STAY BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE

When you are passing a ball onto the court make sure you do not step on the yellow line or fall over it.  If you do this is called a violation and the other team will get the ball.  Examples of these are as follows:

When the opposition has scored a basket a player from your team can pick the ball up and pass it to another player from his team but always make sure your feet are BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE.

When the opposition losses possession of the ball through a violation, the referee will pass you the ball to inbound it to one of your players always make sure your feet are BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE.

When both teams are in the jump ball ALL PLAYERS MUST STAND STILL WHEN TOLD TO DO SO and make sure their feet are BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE.

When a player is having his free throws he must stay BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE.  If he/she steps over the line when they shoot the basket will not count and the ball will be give to the opposition.

LINING UP FOR FREE THROWS

When your player is fouled while he is shooting he will receive two free throws.  This is when both teams have three players line up around the key.  The opposition has two of its players at the bottom of the key (closest to the basket) and one near the top of the key.  The team in possession of the ball has the player who is shooting at the top of the key and two of their players in the middle of the key.
